I have been playing with heat transfer paper and some of my digi designs this afternoon.

I am pleased with how they turned out.

The first two I made for my little grandson baby Jack then I kind of got a production line started.....I always get carried away once I start something lol

Here are some card examples showing how you can quickly make a card using digi stamps and digi papers.

If you open your chosen paper in your graphics programme then open a digi stamp png which has a transparent background you will see that the image stays white and the background is transparent.

This means you can then colour your image after you have printed them out....

I have coloured my image on the computer as I wanted to make these cards quickly to show you what can be done with png images.

I have used 'Owl with Rose' here and she can also be bought in a set here

Steampunk Owl

I am always stuck with finding just the right image for my dear old dad.

Well he loves tinkering with old clocks and watches etc.....well anything mechanical really.

I got this vision in my head this morning and just had to get it designed while I still remembered.

I have made a birthday card for my daughter using one of my new digis 'Owl in Hat'

The marvelous thing about digis is you can do sooo much with them.....possibilities are endless!

You can do things with polymer stamps that you can't do with digis and visa versa.

I think both 'actual' stamps and 'digis' can play a big part in the crafting world :)

I saw on the 'Less is More' Challenge that this weeks theme is a OLC with stripes

so this inspired my creation.

I have used the pre-coloured version here as I haven't a lot of time for colouring just now.

Anyone who buys my digis willl know that they come with a precoloured version as well as an image to colour yourself.....great for when you need a card in a hurry :)

The sentiment comes from my new 'Owl Sentiments' Set

As you can see there are 6 different sentiments.......each comes as a separate png file.

If you open your png sentiment file on top of some patterned paper in a graphics programme you will see it appears to float above the paper and you can move it around....this is because it has a transparent background.........you will see the letters have a nice white border around them like on my card.

You can just print them out onto plain or patterned paper and you will get a blackline sentiment but it must be opened TOGETHER with the paper in a graphics programme to get the white border effect....hope I am making sense lol!

DT girl Jenny uses this graphic software which is free to download and she loves it!

I designed some stripes in my graphics programme and a number.....imported the image and sentiment......played around until I was happy with the layout by resizing etc then printed it out

It's been very interesting reading your comments!

It seems digis are taking the lead but the physical stamp still has a place in our hearts!

I have had lots of requests to produce some more designs with the quirky little owls I designed for valentines day.......these have been very popular :)

DT girl Mandy emailed me yesterday to see if there was any chance I could design one of them in a big hat so she could make her Mum a Mothers Day Card

I quickly designed the one she requested and went on to design two other Mum themed owl designs.

These proms are the in thing these days......didn't have them when my daughter Emma left school.

Proms are something that have only sprung up in recent years in the UK.....something we have caught from our friends in the US :)

Girls Sentiment Set

Here is a digi sentiment set just perfect for little girls!

It consists of 3 separate images

Each image has 3 files:-

1 coloured jpg (like shown)

1 blackline jpg

1 blackline png (transparent background)

....so 9 files in total and thats a bargain at £1.95

The coloured files team well with most of our digi papers here especially 'Springtime'

They aslo go well with our 'Chloe' character who is available here as a digi and here as polymer stamps...... they feature her little pet cat :)

These can be resized in any graphic programme........Jenny our DT girl uses PagePlus which can be downloaded for free here

So you can use them 'Large' as toppers and fill the front of your card or scale them down to more normal sized sentiments

If you open some patterned paper in your graphics programme and open the png sentiment you will see that the pattern shows through the transparent background but the cat, hearts and flowers stay white.

If you then print out what is on your screen the sentiment will be patterned but the images will be left white for you to colour if you wish

Well Christmas seems as far away as ever....but it won't seem long before those decorations are coming back out of the roof space again lol!

I planned to do lots of cleaning today but unfortunately I had a very sore back this morning.

I was carrying a heavy box a coule of days ago and yesterday my back started to seize up.

I have had a Curaheat pad on all day and it does feel easier.

Grand Calibur Raspberry Plates!

Woo Hoo! The Grand Calibur Raspberry plates are here!

Last time we had these they flew out and it has taken us 2 months to get more.

These have been as rare in the UK as hens teeth lol

If Santa Claus is bringing you the Grand Calibur machine this Christmas you may need to add one of these to your wishlist!

If you want to use Sizzlets , Cuttlebug dies and folders in your Grand Calibur then you will need one of these adapter plates.....they do not come with the machines

Please read info here to make sure you put the right sandwich in your machines

A lady emailed me a while back to say her Raspberry Plate had broken in two......and what had she done wrong?

She told me the combo of plates she had used which was totaly the wrong 'Sandwich'

So please read the info in the link as you could not only break plates if you get the 'Sandwich' wrong.....you could also break your machine!

If you want one of these plates then please place your order quickly as we won't have these in stock for long

I know a lot of peeps are getting GC for Christmas and most won't realize until Christmas morning when they start to play with their new toy that they may need a GC Raspberry Plate :)

Today we have had a lovely email from Quiane of Feltro - Aholic the foreign blog that had my 'Gingerbread Man' digi Image offered as a freebie

It is a Brazilian blog in Portugese language

Quaine has not been around the last couple of days to see the messages but as soon as she did she contacted us :)

The blog is like a craft magazine (you will see it has a large following) anyway Quiane took over as editor August 2011 and someone else had already posted the 'Gingerbread Man' before her.

It looks like there are lots of different people who post on the blog

She was very apologetic and deleted the image immediately as she takes copyright very seriously and has posted an apology on her blog.....see here....it's in Portugese mind lol

I am a very happy bunny tonight and I even have a new FB friend :)

Here is my comfy chair and main computer where I draw my designs and process Pink Gem orders.

As you can see I only have a few Martha Stewart punches....oh forgot I have a drawer full of punches and there are some in there....what am I like....typical crafter and forgot what I have lol.

Every time I go see Christine aka Nanaseaside....I am gobsmacked by her display of Martha Stewart punches lol!

Funny thing is I am not as mad for MS punches as I once was.....I think it's since the fancy long border dies came out.

I am particularly loving the Spellbinders Edgeablilities which I cut with my new baby the Grande Calibur

Here you can see some of the things I use to colour my stamp images

Copics, ProMarkers, Prisma Pencils, Koh-I- Noor Pencils, Distress Inks which I keep stored upside down.

You can see the Sansador and paper stumps next to the inks which I use to blend the pencils

I am hankering after Grande ones now....always something that a crafter wants...erm needs isn't there lol!

Digi Scrapping meets Paper Crafting

Here is some digi scrapping mixed with papercrafting....what some might call hybrid.

It's a Christmas card I made for my parents.

I took the photo of Gem sitting on my bed wearing the hat (and doesn't she look happy lol). I removed her from the background and made her into a png with a transparent background. You can do this with photo editing software.

I then transported her into 'My Memories Suite' and placed her on the snowy background.

I added words to the photo and also to a tag from the same kit Christmas Party

I printed them out to make the card and added a few embellishiments.

Birmingham At Christmas Time!

Yesterday we visited the German/Christmas market in Birmingham.

I have never been to the Christmas market there before and oh my word it was massive!

We had a few Christmas bevvies to keep us warm like Mulled Wine, Mulled Cider, Hot Cherry Wine and Fire Wine (mulled wine with rum) scrummy!

Then we finished off with a lovely meal in The Mailbox at a fab bar restaurant overlooking the canal!

Christmas Shopping - Day 1

Yes it's that time of year again.....just don't know where the time goes....seems like last christmas was only a couple of months back!

I must be getting old....my old Mum says the older you get the quicker time flies by and she is right!

I thought I better venture out and make a start on the gift shopping.

I bought a couple of pressies but the best buy of all was these gorgeous slippers from Next

.....and better still I bought them for myself....too good to giveaway lol!

I love these furry boot type of slips as my feet get so cold sitting working on the comp (another sign of old age lol)

I got the last medium pair in the shop and the assistant said there were only 1 pair of small left in the store.....apparently everyones been buying them:)

So if you want to buy a pair for a loved one or even better for yourself....get yourself around to Next sharpish or better still order online so you will not to be dissapointed

We had it when our kids were little and they loved it!

Look what my lovely hubby just bought me!

We went to PC world for a new mouse for the main computer and I got this as well!

I love playing with photos and creating digital images and I have been wanting this for a while.

I am getting a new camera for Christmas but I can't have that until on the day or there will be no surprises :)

Well must leave you now as I am going out to lunch with daughter and hubby

Better not have any wine though as I have lots of studying to do!

As Chrissie quite rightly pointed out there were too many layers and embellies on my last entry.....I do get carried away lol!

Where does the time go!

I have used my new digi 'Christmas Baubles' again.....this time I have used the actual pre colour one so if you buy it, this is what your coloured one will look like.

It comes in these colours with and without a sentiment and also in 'Black Line' with and without a sentiment so you can colour it yourselves......see it here

I am being a bit lazy with the colouring this week as my throat is still sore.....well that's my excuse anyway lol

A really quick make today!

When I saw the new challenge for 'Less Is More' - 'Stars'.....I knew it would be just perfect for my latest digi stamp 'Christmas Baubles'

I used the pre coloured version although I changed the colours in my graphics software as I like to play around :0) Thats the magic of digis

If you buy this digi you get 4 versions :- 2 blackline versions which you can colour in yourself....one with the sentiment and one without. 2 colour versions as the one shown on our website.....one with sentiment and one without.

I just added some glitter and a few pearls.......I like the pearl flourish as it looks like a decoration hanging from the tree branch.

This is about as 'Less is Morey" as I can get lol

I am going to make a few of these to send out this year with no foam pads to bump the postage up :)

Half Term with Mimi

Not much time for crafting just now as we have our four year old grandaughter Mimi staying a few days.

As you can see she has taken over Grandma's craft room!

Not let her loose on my new Grand Calibur yet though and all Prisma, Copics and ProMarkers are hidden safely away lol

Yesterday was a busy day for Mimi as she learnt how to drive one of Grandad's trams

She was dead pleased when she was given £1 in wages lol!

After we went on the Severn Valley Steam Railway special 'Halloween Steam Train'

.....at the end of a busy day a tired little girl!

Today we went to the children's play park in Stourport in the morning......and craft room and making 'Halloween Cakes' in the afternoon.

Mimi doesn't know it yet but we have Fireworks and Sparklers this evening.

It's back up the M6 to Greater Manchester with her tomorrow.....I am staying at a friends in the evening and going for an Italian meal with the girls before driving back on Thursday.

As much as I love having Mimi my brain feels totally mashed....by tomorrow evening I will be in need of a stiff drink lol!

I drew this Phoebe image yesterday afternoon......isn't she a cutie!

She is now available to buy as a digi here.

She comes in black line which you can colour yourself and also a coloured version for when you need to create something quickly!

......'Less Is More' where the challenge is a OLC with hearts/heart.

These stamps haven't seen the light of day for yonks lol!

I just knew I had a heart stamp somewhere and I found this Anita's stamp in my old stamp box.

The background stamp I bought in a sale when I first began crafting four years ago....only been used once before

I decided to have another go at 'The Less Is More' challenge.

The challenge this time is to make a 'One Layered' card with 'Hearts/Heart.

I think I am getting more into this 'Less Is More' trend lol

I felt inspired by Mandi's DT card where she had stamped in the aperture of a large heart which she laid on her card at an angle.

As you can see I have done something very similar but mine was much more simple to do.

I drew a heart in my graphics programme and used my digi download papers 'Pretty Snowflakes' to fill the hearts

I stamped the sentiment which you can see here and added lots of Glamour Dust (which doesn't show well in the photo) and a heart shaped diamond.........and Voila!

I enjoyed this challenge so much I might come up with another entry before the weeks out....the old grey matter is churning lol!

Too Cute To Spook!

Today I have made this Halloween Card & Milk Carton for my four year old Grandaughter Mimi.

I saw a tutorial for the carton on Kerry's blog a while back and thought I must give it a try!

I only usualy make cards so I thought this would be way out of my comfort zone.....but I enjoyed it!

I dont' have a hougie board like Kerry so adapted it to my Martha Stewart score board.

Kerry's measurements are in centimetres and my board measures in Inches.

I have also used my much neglegted Prisma Pencils.

I really must use them more but the blending with the stumps does affect my finger joints (a sign of old age!) Lol

You will recieve a black line version to colour yourself and a ready coloured version for when you need to make something quickly!
